In 1999 two veteran filmmakers, one from Toronto and the other LA based, talked about combining their talents and resources to form a new kind of film and video production company with reach, not only across North America, but also into South America and Europe. iSpot officially opened for business in 2000 with 4 Senior Producer Partners located in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and LA.

In 1999, Bill Gates predicted that video would dominate the internet in the future. That same year, we designed and built the first fully dedicated video server in Canada to stream video content for our Clients. The following year, iSpot Media installed five of these servers at 155 Front St, the hub of all internet traffic in Toronto and launched Getstreaming.com to became the first video production company in Canada to provide video streaming services.

One look at these pictures and you’ll know that we produce large-scale productions requiring massive planning and logistics. But you’ll also see that we produce small-scale productions. We don’t walk away from any project, large or small, if we can help you make it great.

FULL SERVICE OR A LA CARTE

If you don’t need full service, end-to-end production that’s OK. We also offer our services ‘a la carte’. If all you need is a bit of consultation to get your video pointing in the right direction, we’d love to help. If you want a great Camera Operator to capture amazing footage for you, we’ll make the introduction. We’re all about helping you make great video and if that means giving you select tools to help you do that, we’re all in! On the other hand, if you want full production from Development to Deployment, you know where we are. Here’s a breakdown of what we bring to the table.

  1. Development

    Development is our bedrock. It defines our work and determines your ROI. Our Development process begins with a deep dive into your brand, culture, entity, message and everything that you want to achieve. What follows is a fusion of creative, strategy, passion and more to structure an approach that is custom designed to exceed your expectations. Development includes: Needs Analysis, Consultation, Strategic & Creative Direction, Cost Estimating, Preliminary Logistics and Scheduling.

  2. Logistics

    If Development starts the engine, Logistics puts you on the start line fully prep'd to win. This is the most lengthy and detail-focused stage in video-making where nothing gets left to chance. Logistics includes: Locking down all Creative (scripts, storyboards, art direction, etc.); Crew & equipment bookings; Location scout and scheduling; Celebrity and/or interview bookings; Talent casting; Prop procurement; Travel & accommodation; Call Sheets, Shot Lists and Shoot Schedules; Contracts, insurance and permits.

  3. Production

    Production is where all the time and energy that we invest in Development and Logistics culminates into a successful shoot day. But this is also where we know that the best laid plans can still be interrupted. That's why every shoot day that we host begins with a team production meeting to review our contingency plans. These may include, among other things, prioritizing our master shots, planning for sound interruptions, weather conditions and optimal dawn or dusk lighting opportunities.

  1. Post-Production

    Post-Production is a term that includes film and video editing and a number of other disciplines. At iSpot, we offer some of the most experienced editors in the industry to help bring your production to life along with amazing Colour Grading Specialists, CGI Technicians and Animators. We also provide full Dolby 5.1 sound editing and mixing to give your production amazing cinematic sound quality.

  2. Deployment

    Anyone can post video to the major social media sites today. But the question is, are they taking advantage of the best quality that these sites offer? We began optimizing video for the internet and television broadcasters back in early 1999. We know how to make your videos perform and look better on these sites and on television, because we know what these conversion algorithms need to output maximum quality.

  3. Analysis

    Google Analytics, Online Surveys and Social Media 'likes' and 'comments' are great tools to help you track the success of your video marketing campaign. But if you want to dig deeper with a controlled study, an old school Focus Group is still hard to beat in terms of accuracy and flexibility. If you are focused on increasing your ROI and video marketing effectiveness, there are may analytic options that we can help you with.
